Beginning in the New Year, we have a number of initiatives running at St. Vincent de Paul to promote the wellbeing of our students and staff and to make our school a fun place to learn and work.

Each day, 2/3 different classes have an opportunity to do physical activities in the gym during AM & PM recess  (led by our grade 7/8 leadership students and supervised by a staff member).

Board Games Club

Three times a week, different classes are invited to play board games during lunch recess.

Tiger Fit Challenge

On Fridays during lunch recess, students are invited to do interval training in the gym (cardio & strengthening exercises).

SVDP Team Pedometer Challenge

52 staff members have been divided into two teams (Sole Survivors and Scrambled Legs) and will record their daily steps over the next 3 weeks.  The goal of the challenge is for everyone to be active, be well and have fun.

Weekly Reflection and Prayer

Each week, staff gather in our beautiful chapel to cultivate an authentic Catholic community and school culture and to support one another in our faith journey #CalledToBelong.

Rocks and Rings

Recently each of our classes had an opportunity to do some curling activities at our school.

Intermediate Girls Volleyball and Boys Basketball

Our students and staff have been training hard for the upcoming seasons.

Elementary Skills Challenge: Faith in Action

Staff have begun preparing our students for the elementary skills challenge. It is an excellent opportunity for our students to develop global competencies (i.e. problem solving, creativity, collaboration, citizenship) while engaging in 3D printing, App design, Construction, Lego mechanics/design, Microbits, technology design, and video editing.

Ontario Skills Cardboard Boat Race and Video Challenge

In addition, we have some grade 8 students participating in the Cardboard Boat Race Challenge (see images below).
