Christmas Message from St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Elementary School
“In switching on the light of the Nativity scene, we wish for the light of Christ to be in us. A Christmas without light is not Christmas. Let there be light in the soul, in the heart; let there be forgiveness to others; let there be no hostilities, which are dark. Let there be the beautiful light of Jesus. This is my wish for all of you, when you turn on the light of the crib.” Pope Francis
I couldn’t help but share the above quote used by our Director, Loretta Notten this Christmas Season. The message captures what Christmas is truly about. As I look back on the activities that have taken place at St. Vincent de Paul in our first few months of this year, I am proud to be witness to the ‘light of Christ’ in the children and adults inside this building. We have tirelessly worked together as a team to make this school a positive place to learn and grow. We, including you, have given generously to food and clothing donations, fundraisers, and giving of time to assist others. I also wish to acknowledge the many signs of Goodwill that are not visible, and to those I commend staff and students for the heart of gold they have in supporting and helping others, without asking for recognition. Like Christ, in whom we need faith to believe, his life is an example to all of us. I wish you and your families the joy of opening up your hearts, allowing the ‘light of Christ’ into your hearts. May you be blessed with peace and joy, and bring it to others. Much health and happiness for the New Year.
