The Ecoclub students have come up with some initiatives to guide our school in becoming more mindful about the impact we have on the earth for the month of April.
- Every TUESDAY will be TRASHLESS TUESDAY Please refrain from putting an unwrapped cheese string/granola bar, etc in a container. It’s still GARBAGE being created PLUS water used to clean a container. Kind of silly, eh? You can send in cheese cut from a brick, home made granola bars, home made muffins, cheese and crackers, apple sauce from a large container put into a small container (same for yogourt, gold fish crackers, etc). If you need help with suggestions, please contact your child’s teacher 😀
- LIGHTS OUT for an HOUR every FRIDAY after LUNCH 🙂
- Plastic Bag challenge – students can bring in EMPTY/CLEAN grocery bags from home that Eco Club will count. Walmart has a recycling program for these bags.
- Eco Club will be coming around from time to time to check to see how the classes are doing with sorting their garbage and recycling. Are things in the right containers??
5.School Wide yard clean up 😀
As always, thanks for all of your support in making the home-school connection a meaningful one. Let’s make Earth Day EVERY DAY! Goooooo TIGERS!
